First Test Tube Baby Clinic Opens in Kampala.

Yoweri Museveni yesterday opened the first test tube baby clinic in Uganda at the Fertility and Maternity Centre in Bukoto.
He also ordered the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to stop taxing the materials to be used by the clinic in the production of test tube babies (In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).
The President was responding to complaints from the proprietors of the clinic that URA officials had been holding their medical equipment at Entebbe Airport for the last three weeks.
"This question of taxing these materials is not acceptable. It is really lack of information. These are raw materials, which are supposed to be tax-free. There should be no tax," Museveni said.
